Electronic control units (ECUs) and power train control modules (PCMs) control virtually every function of the auto mobile. Depending on the actual model and trim, the vehicle may have a separate set of modules including TCMs and ECMs to monitor specific transmission and engine parts operation. These modules are redesigned every several years, so a Lexus vehicle that has been serviced with after market parts may require the installation of a new network of sensors as well as the modules to which they are connected.

A Lexus vehicle is equipped with several computer sensors that monitor the active safety systems such as traction control and stability control. The engine's temperature, the fuel mix in the carburetor, and the radiator thermostat are constantly monitored. The sensors send information to the PCM, and the coded information is analyzed. Programming PCMs, ECMs, and TCMs is a simple procedure, but the wrong computer component will not respond properly to the sensor input signals. This is why it is extremely important to have the proper modules installed on the vehicle.

TCMs and ECUs do not become inoperative very often. However, when they do, any problems with the engine, transmission, brakes, fluid levels, or safety systems may not be noticed. Make sure to install the proper module for the exact model and trim, and get the best prices on these microcomputers from our company.
